30 August Victory Day is one of the most important turning points in the history of the Turkish nation. This day marks the victory of the Great Offensive, which laid the foundation for the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. Under the command of Atatürk, the Turkish army and people showed great heroism against the occupying forces and won the struggle for independence and sovereignty. This victory meant the rebirth of the Turkish nation and its rise to a respectable position in the international arena. 30 August Victory Day is celebrated as an official and national holiday in Turkey and Northern Cyprus every year. On this day, we commemorate all our martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, especially Atatürk and his comrades in arms, and strengthen our feelings of national unity and solidarity.
I worked with great excitement and happiness while preparing this painting. It was an honor for me to express Atatürk's great personality and vision through art.
